Jim Stanfield and Kenny Prohn have sent me the following, for those primarily on Crete from 70-75:
Yo', my fellow aging humans!!
Hope the new year finds you both doing well and that Santa was good to you. Here's a news tidbit that I'm hoping will brighten your day.
Kenny Prohn asked me a good question the other day -- "is there a yearbook or something, for the time we were on Crete"?
There is that Yahoo message board. There are a couple of reunion sites, but those are also "all years", lots of it folks who were dependent kids from the 80's, etc. Nothing anywhere close to what he was thinking of.
He asked that over the weekend. Monday, I put a site together using Ning (a very cool though not-much-talked-about creation from the guy who invented Netscape, Marc Andreessen. Assumption upon doing so was that it would be just for folks assigned there during Jan 70 - Dec 75 time frame.
We're calling it just what Kenny had been looking for -- a "yearbook".
You have to get a Ning userid and password, but other than that, it's really simple! Please take a look, see what you think and hopefully, join in. No idea where the idea will go, but here we are................
http://ias40yrsago.ning.com
Feel free to pass the link along to all those you're in touch with from the period Jan 70 - Dec 75!! Feel free to put it on any Crete-related message boards, I just ask that you point out that we're looking for folks from that particular time in our lives.
